Well the gadfly business has its up-sides and its down-sides. Granted, there are mostly down-sides. I mean, you're generally picking on powerful politicians who don't like to be "called on the carpet" over their behavior. People don't generally invite you to lunch or dinner. People don't invite you out for drinks. Lets face it. I'm a garbage man. I'm a guy who does the thankless dirty work that needs to be done. I take relentless beatings at the hands of people who aren't happy about having their shenanigans exposed publicly.

You know, just when you think you have somebody completely figured out, something comes along to throw a wrench in it. After Ron's speech to the Woodrow grads, I wanted to hear what to told other area graduates. So I grabbed a copy of the videotape from Madison High School. What I watched was probably one of the best graduation speeches I have ever heard. We're having some technical difficulties (yes, even I have technical difficulties from time to time), but will try to get the speech online in the next few days.

Ron, yesterday, made a huge mistake; and it wasn't the comment he made about me. You see, on Saturday, I met Ron's mom.

Self proclaimed "nice guy" Ron Price apparently isn't viewed quite as nicely by the Texas Ethics Commission. Price settled a complaint and was fined $600 for filing late campaign reports.

Dallas School Board Trustee Ron Price not only holds the distinction of the only domestic violence convict to sit on the Board, he now holds the record for late campaign reports--765 days combined as well as a blatantly falsified report filed on November 10.

A Dallas Criminal Court of Appeals Judge has dismissed the appeal citing "lack of jurisdiction." This means that Price's original conviction for domestic abuse stands. Price was convicted in Dallas Municipal Court on March 24, of domestic violence in an assault on his wife. According to police and arrest reports, Price forced his way into his wife's apartment and "pushed her on the chin causing her to fall backwards." Sources familiar with the affair have indicated that Price was upset over a pending divorce. |
